Spinal and Joint Manipulation: The most common therapeutic procedure performed by a chiropractic physician is a spinal manipulation. The purpose of a manipulation is to restore joint mobility by applying a controlled force into tissue that has become hypo-mobile as a result of a tissue injury. This can be as a result of a micro or macro traumatic event, whether it be by improper lifting or by repetitive movements. In either case the injured tissue undergoes an inflammation response creating diminished function. A manipulation will restore mobility, alleviate pain and muscle tightness and allow tissues to heal.

Non-Invasive Trigger Point Therapy: This percussive device is a variable controlled instrument that is primarily utilized for the management of soft tissue adhesion, trigger point lesions, and deep fascia restrictions.

Arthrostim Gun: this device provides vertical percussive compression waves using variable frequencies to address trigger point lesions shortened fascia surgical scar tissue and joint mechanical restrictions. It’s a specialized hand held instrument that begins to gently and safely correct and adjust the spine. The tool works by taking the amount of force that the Dr. might use in a traditional adjustment, and divides that force into smaller chunks that are delivered in a short time to a specific area. The arthrostim allows us to maintain the effectiveness of your manipulation while reducing the amount of force that is applied and providing a gentler experience. This dynamic combination allows us to manage a wider range of conditions comfortably. It is often used when traditional manipulation is contraindicated.

Electrical Stimulation: Electrical stimulation is a modality used to help the healing process of the body. Small electrical currents are sent to the area of injury, such as soft tissue damage or muscle spasms. The body is able to release natural relievers of pain known as endorphins. This helps reduce swelling, break up muscle spasm and or adhesions, and increase the blood flow to the region, to aid in allowing the muscle to return to its normal state. E-stim is used for both chronic and acute phases of care.

Flexion Distraction Table: This technique involves the use of a specialized table which allows for passive distraction, flexion, lateral bending, and rotation of the spine. This treatment helps increase the space between the vertebral disc to improve circulation, decrease pain, and reduces inflammation of the nerve root; it is most commonly used to treat disc herniation, spinal stenosis, low back pain and radicular symptomology to the lower extremities.

Ultrasound therapy: Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves that vibrate to deliver deep heat to the treated tissues. The treatments may help reduce stiffness, swelling, and pain, increase circulation/ blood flow, decrease scar tissue formation, and promote pain-free movement. Ultrasound therapy may be used alone or in conjunction with stretching, therapeutic massage, heat, or gentle chiropractic manipulation. Ultrasound therapy is a painless procedure, and many people find it relaxing.

Intersegmental Traction Table: Intersegmental traction tables Mobilizes the spinal column while simultaneously and gently stretching ligaments and muscles. Intersegmental traction tables increase blood flow and oxygen to discs, ligaments and muscles, thereby improving balance, strength and mobility.

Shockwave Services in Newtown Square

Focused and Radial Shockwave:

Those who opt for Dr. Nadler’s radial shockwave therapy at his Newtown Square office will find that high energy acoustic waves are transmitted through the surface of the skin and are spread into the tissue of the affected area of the body. Each radial shockwave therapy performed at his Newtown Square office also works to increase the metabolic activity around the treated area stimulating the reabsorption of irritated calcium deposits and stimulates the body’s natural healing process, reducing pain. Last but not least, radial shockwave therapy can help with a multitude of injuries such as tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder, patellar tendonitis, and cervical and lumbar syndrome. Those who are interested in learning more about Dr. Nadler’s radial shockwave therapy are highly encouraged to reach out to call his office.

Vax-D/Spinal Decompression: Vertebral axial decompression. Vax-D is non-surgical, non-invasive, spinal decompression medical treatment for a number of low back disc conditions including herniated, bulging, ruptured discs, degenerative disc disease, annular tears, sciatica, internal disc disruption (IDD), and post-operative scar tissue (called “failed back syndrome”). The table is a FDA approved device that applies a measured amount of distraction force to the intradiscal spaces of the lumbar spine. The therapy consists of applying the distraction force gradually by extending the lower half of the table away from the body’s midsection thus creating pressure on the pelvic harness. This force is exerted fifteen (15) times in one (1) minute intervals with a relaxation time of thirty (30) seconds in-between the distraction cycles.

Rehabilitation: Rehabilitation Chiropractic focuses on injuries and conditions unique to the active patient, as well as promoting principles of physical fitness. Restoring kinetic chain functioning is the fundamental goal. Exercise programs focus on stabilizing posture by addressing issues such as balance, core, stretching tightened postural muscles and strengthening reciprocally weakened muscles. The concepts can be applied to everyone, of course, not just the athlete.

Graston Technique: This technique successful in effectively treating all soft tissue conditions, whether they are chronic or acute and post-surgical. The Graston Technique® offers many advantages to the patient such as: Decreases overall time of treatment, Fosters faster rehabilitation/recovery, Reduces need for anti-inflammatory medication, Resolves chronic conditions thought to be permanent.

Adjustable Cold Therapy- Cold therapy has been shown to decrease pain and muscle spasms, tissue damage and swelling. Game Ready’s temperature adjustability allows for customized and comfortable cold application which can help to improve patient compliance.

Intermittent Compression has been shown to limit swelling, control edema formation, and encourage acceleration of the healing process. In addition, intermittent compression has been shown to be more effective than static compression in the clinical setting. Game Ready’s intermittent compression conforms the wrap to the contours of the body to aid in the delivery of the cold therapy.

Whole Body Linear Gravity Therapy: Whole-body vibration is the mechanical repetitive movement, or oscillatory motion, around an equilibrium point. Whole-body vibration therapy is a forced oscillation, where vibrations generated by motors underneath a vibration platform are transmitted to the person on the machine. Whole-body vibration platforms currently available produce sinusoidal shaped oscillations. As apparent from its name, in WBV, the entire body exposed to vibration, as opposed to local vibrations (Biomechanical Stimulation, BMS), where an isolated muscle or muscle group is stimulated by the use of a vibration device. Whole body vibration is implemented through the use of a vibrating platform on which static poses are held or dynamic exercises can be performed depending on the type and force of the machine. The vibrations generated by motors underneath the platform are transmitted to the person on the machine. The intensity, defined by the parameters frequency, amplitude, magnitude (light vibration versus heavy vibration) and the direction of these vibrations are essential for their effect. Studies have been done correlating whole body vibration exercise on arterial stiffness, linear jumping, osteoporosis management, musculoskeletal problems, balance/vestibular and other conditions. This device used in our office is the only one that is available in the U.S. that provides pure specific frequency linear motion.

Kinesio/Spider Tech Taping: treatment involves a taping method used on or around muscles to prevent over contraction and to give support. The specific elasticity of the tape allows a healthy range of motion with proper support and stabilization. Kinesio taping works by stimulating naturally the body’s own pain relief and healing mechanism. This reduces pain and inflammation lymphatic drainage, and allows the body to recover faster.

Physical Therapy – When recovering from an injury or stroke, or coping with the physical effects of age, it’s important to focus on proper movement patterns, balance, and flexibility, while also rebuilding strength. With our physical therapy services, the goal is to prevent re-injury and improve quality of life by improving functional movement.

Nutrition: Supplementing the body with appropriate nutrition can play a major role in the road to recovery. We offer a variety of supplements from Now foods, anabolic labs, ascenta, biopharma, and douglas labs. From Sports Nutrition to general wellness we work hand in hand to derive a supplemental regime that best fits your needs.

Massage Therapy: This is an effective tool used at Dr. Nadler’s Newtown Square office to will help remove toxins that can build up in the muscles, break up muscle adhesions, decrease muscle spasm, increase range of motion, increase circulation, as well as decrease pain and symptomology associated with pain. Massage therapy can be in the form of deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release. In conjunction with chiropractic manipulation, massage therapy is a very effective therapy that Dr. Nadler offers for his patients in and around Newtown Square, PA.

Cupping: Cupping is one of the oldest methods of Chinese medicine. Plastic cups are placed on the skin using a hand-held distraction tool to create vacuum/suction. During cupping, the suction and negative pressure provided by the cups encourages blood flow, loosens muscle tissue and fascia, and sedates the nervous system. Cupping pulls blood towards the treated area to stimulate the healing process. This treatment increases oxygenation and tissue delivery, removes old stagnant blood, creates new blood vessels, decreases muscle tightness, and reduces pain. Cupping is especially helpful when used in conjunction with joint manipulation.
