Tennis Elbow Treatment in Newtown Square

Drug-Free, Root-Cause Care for Lateral Epicondylitis in Montgomery County, Delaware County, Chester County, & Philadelphia County

Tennis elbow affects far more people than those who ever pick up a racket. Lateral epicondylitis is a repetitive strain injury that causes pain at the outer elbow and forearm. It is the result of cumulative overuse, not a single incident.

At  in Newtown Square, PA, we focus on the underlying cause of that pain rather than masking it with medication. Dr. Nadler holds a D.C., C.C.S.P., and D.A.A.PM., with post-doctoral training in chiropractic neurology from Cleveland Chiropractic College, board certification through the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and an A.S. and L.P.T.A. in Physical Therapy from Harcum College in Bryn Mawr. No physician referral is needed to schedule your first visit.

If forearm or elbow pain is limiting your daily activity, don’t wait. Call (610) 467-2227 to schedule tennis elbow treatment at our Newtown Square office.

What Is Lateral Epicondylitis?

Lateral epicondylitis, also known as tennis elbow, is estimated to affect up to 3% of the adult population and is caused by overuse of the arm, producing pain where the forearm meets the elbow. Despite the name, few people develop tennis elbow through playing tennis. It’s tied to any repeated forearm and wrist motion, from construction and carpentry to keyboard work and cooking.

The pain focuses on the outside of the arm, driven by inflammation in the tendons and the extensor carpi radialis brevis (ECRB) muscle. Repeated motion creates small tears in the ECRB, and that tendon inflammation spreads stress through the surrounding tissue. Symptoms can include pain when gripping objects, weakness in the hand and wrist, and discomfort when extending the wrist or straightening the elbow. Left untreated, those micro-tears can compound. That makes early, targeted treatment worth pursuing.

How We Treat Tennis Elbow at

Your first visit includes a thorough consultation, physical examination, and complete review of your symptoms and medical history. From there, Dr. Nadler builds a customized treatment plan around your specific condition, not a generic protocol.

Shockwave therapy is our primary tool for lateral epicondylitis in our office. Our radial and focused shockwave therapy (EPAT/ESWT) uses FDA-cleared technology to deliver acoustic waves directly to the injured tendon, supporting the body’s natural healing response, increasing local circulation, and helping break down scar tissue. The treatment is non-invasive, requires no anesthesia, leaves no scarring, and involves no downtime. Our practice reports an over-80-percent patient satisfaction rate with shockwave treatment for conditions like tennis elbow.

The Graston Technique is another modality well-suited to soft tissue tendon injuries. This instrument-assisted approach targets adhesions and restrictions in the forearm tissue that contribute to pain and limited movement. When elbow tendons are inflamed, soft tissue massage therapy helps reduce tension and restore circulation to the affected area. Physical therapy in our office focuses on rebuilding forearm strength and flexibility, addressing the kinetic chain through the wrist, elbow, shoulder, and cervical spine, not only the pain site.

Additional modalities available under one roof include vibration therapy, electrical stimulation, ultrasound therapy, and nutritional support. Patients dealing with related upper-extremity conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome can also receive care here. Our goal is for you to regain full arm movement and understand how to prevent recurrence without surgery, injections, or prescription medication.
